“A course along which someone or something moves.”
This collection, like all others, started with fabric. Inspired by a Japanese cotton stripe that was produced in various widths, I knew immediately I wanted to create pieces for this range that moved with and around the body; pieces that embodied a summer holiday by the beach but also equally reflected the modern city woman.
As I started to play with how I could mould the cotton stripes around the female form, experimenting with fullness through gathers, switching the direction of the stripes and creating different panels with the changing thicknesses of lines, the range really started to take shape.
Direction 2020 will be dropping online in September/October.
